We rent out the fetal dopplers at no cost. If you can afford to donate
to us, you can help others like yourself, and if you can't, that's okay.
We have a nurse you may call to help with any issues you have
using the doppler, but
remember, we are not to be used instead of your own doctor and any medical questions should be
directed to your doctor...
We strongly suggest that upon receiving your doppler, you bring it to your
next OB appointment and let your OB help teach you how to find the heartbeat
with our monitor.
Qualifications to receive a doppler:
- FDA regulations require that you have a prescription to rent the doppler.
We will call your doctor and obtain the prescription for you. However,
we cannot rent you the doppler without one.
- You must have previously lost a child due to miscarriage, fetal demise,
stillbirth, ectopic pregnancy, complications from delivery or be in a high
risk pregnancy. We will verify this when we call your doctor to obtain a
prescription.
- You may request the doppler at any point in your pregnancy, however we
will not send you the doppler until you are 12 weeks. The reason for this
is that it is too difficult to find the baby's heartbeat before 12 weeks.
- You will receive the doppler at no charge along with a return shipping
label. We ask that you return the doppler within 10 days of giving birth
so that we may help others such as yourself. If we do not receive the doppler back 4 weeks after delivery, we will charge you for the doppler. If
you have any problems that would prevent you from getting the doppler to us,
please contact us and we will help you.
If you qualify and are interested in receiving a doppler, please contact us
at 650-678-6456. If we do not answer, leave a message and we will return
your call in a timely manner. If you have any questions, please feel free
to email us at dana@tinyheartbeats.org.
